from Tides

Less repeating the same explanation every month. More context when it matters.

How it works

A cycle-aware relationship companion, built for understanding.

01

She personalizes her Tides experience

She adds her cycle dates, support preferences, care preferences, favorite things, and what tends to help during each phase.

02

Her partner connects and consents

Her partner accepts the invitation and agrees to receive the cycle updates and reminders she chooses to share.

03

Tides sends thoughtful updates

Approved estimated phase updates, personalized support suggestions, and important-date reminders arrive by text, so her partner does not need to constantly open an app.

04

Tools for the moments that need more

Explain Today, Hard Day, Repair, Little Things, and appreciation messages help them communicate and reconnect when extra context is useful.

Less guessing. More context. More opportunities to understand each other.

From the founder

I built Tides because I needed it too.

I created Tides because I wanted something I could actually use with my boyfriend.

I wanted him to understand how different parts of my cycle could affect how I felt, my energy, and what I needed without me having to explain everything from scratch every month.

I also wanted an easier way to tell him what kind of support actually helped me, because that can change throughout the month and looks different for everyone.

Most cycle apps help women track what is happening in their bodies. I wanted to build something that helps couples understand what is happening between them, too.

Tides was created to make those conversations easier, more personal, and more supportive for both partners.

Founder of Tides
Cycle awareness

Four phases. Support personalized to her.

Cycle experiences vary. Tides combines estimated timing with the patterns and support preferences each user chooses to share.

Menstrual

She may prefer more rest, comfort, or low-pressure time. Tides follows what she has shared.

Follicular

Energy and preferences can shift. Tides suggests support based on her personal patterns.

Ovulation

Some people feel more social or connected, while others notice little change. Her preferences come first.

Luteal

She may experience stronger emotional or physical symptoms. Tides shares the support she has selected.

SMS-first

Your partner does not need another app. Tides meets them in their texts.

The magic happens in the messages — simple, warm context that helps your partner show up, without opening an app.

  • Estimated phase updates with personalized context
  • Support suggestions based on her preferences
  • Birthday and anniversary reminders
  • Wishlist and favorite-item inspiration
  • Hard Day messages
  • Explain Today messages
  • Repair messages
  • Optional PMDD education
  • Appreciation messages

Automatic phase and important-date reminders are sent only after the cycle-sharing user approves the categories and the connected partner consents to recurring messages. Explain Today, Hard Day, Repair, and appreciation messages are user-triggered and are not sent automatically.

What's inside

Quiet features that do a lot of heavy lifting.

Cycle Updates

Automatic estimated phase updates help her partner understand where she may be in her cycle. Messages are sent only after both people consent.

Support by Phase

She teaches Tides what tends to help during each phase, such as reassurance, space, practical help, comfort, listening, or fewer decisions. Her personal preferences come before general assumptions.

Partner Connection & SMS Updates

She invites her partner, who connects and agrees to receive the message categories she chooses to share.

Explain Today

One tap. Clearer context. An easier conversation.

She chooses how she feels, what she needs, and whether cycle language is included. She reviews the message before sending it.

Hard Day

A quick, low-effort way to ask for space, comfort, listening, encouragement, practical help, reassurance, or a later check-in.

Repair

A structured way to apologize, acknowledge impact, clarify what she meant, request a pause, or reconnect after a difficult moment.

Context can explain a reaction, but it does not erase responsibility. Repair messages are manually reviewed and sent.

PMDD, explained with her permission

A user with clinician-diagnosed PMDD can choose to have Tides explain PMDD to her partner. She controls whether to share a simple explanation, her personal experience, and the support that tends to help.

Tides does not diagnose PMDD.

Important Dates & Reminders

Birthdays, anniversaries, trips, first dates, and other meaningful moments can trigger automatic reminders before they arrive.

Favorites

Her favorite coffee, flowers, restaurants, products, and experiences — easier to remember when it matters.

Wishlist

Gift ideas she has saved, ready when an occasion or a quiet gesture comes up.

Care Preferences

Both partners can share how they prefer to receive care — quality time, acts of service, words of affirmation, physical affection, humor, reliability, emotional presence, shared responsibility, and custom preferences. Flexible, not fixed types.

Little Things

Tides suggests simple, thoughtful actions based on what she has chosen to share — from handling dinner to bringing her favorite drink or planning a quiet evening.

Appreciation Messages

Either partner can send a simple thank-you or let the other person know what felt supportive. No scores, streaks, rankings, or relationship grades.

Hard Day button

One tap on the days that are harder to explain.

Pick what would help. Your partner gets a warm, honest heads-up — no pressure, no performance.

Today, I need…
Partner receives: "Nicole is having a harder day today and shared that she'd appreciate practical help. No action required, just context."
Consent & control

Connected, but always in control.

She chooses what she wants to share. Her partner chooses which messages to receive. Either person can pause updates or disconnect at any time.
