Tides Terms of Use
Effective Date: June 15, 2026 · Last Updated: June 15, 2026
Tides is currently an early-stage product being tested with a limited group of invited adult users. Features, policies, and data practices may evolve as the product is tested and developed.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Tides Labs LLC (“Tides,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
These Terms govern your access to and use of:
- Tideswithyou.com
- The Tides mobile or web application
- Partner invitations
- Tides SMS services
- Connected-partner features
- Other Tides services that link to these Terms
By creating an account, accepting an invitation, consenting to receive SMS messages, or otherwise using Tides, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree, do not use Tides.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a binding agreement to use Tides.
By using Tides, you represent that:
- You are at least 18 years old.
- The information you provide is accurate.
- You will use Tides only for lawful purposes.
- You have authority to provide the information you submit.
- You will not use Tides to monitor, harass, deceive, manipulate, control, or harm another person.

3. Tides Does Not Provide Medical Care or Therapy
Tides does not provide:
- Medical advice

- Legal advice
- A substitute for professional care
Tides does not diagnose:

- Any other medical or mental-health condition
Information provided through Tides is intended for general education, communication, and wellness support.
Consult a qualified healthcare professional regarding symptoms, diagnosis, medication, treatment, or health concerns.
Do not delay or disregard professional care because of information provided through Tides.
4. Emergencies and Safety
Tides is not an emergency or crisis service.
Do not rely on:
- Hard Day
- Explain Today
- Repair
- Partner messages
- Cycle reminders
- PMDD education
- Future AI features
for emergencies involving:
- Suicide
- Self-harm
- Violence
- Domestic abuse
- Stalking
- Sexual assault
- Child safety
- Severe medical symptoms
- Acute psychiatric symptoms
- Immediate danger
If you or another person may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis, medical, or domestic-violence resource.
Tides does not guarantee that it will detect crisis language, abuse, danger, or unsafe situations.
Tides will not automatically contact a partner, healthcare provider, emergency service, or law-enforcement agency unless a future feature expressly states otherwise and any legally required authorization has been obtained.
5. Cycle Estimates
Cycle phases shown by Tides are estimates based on information entered by the user.
They do not confirm:
- Ovulation
- Fertility
- Pregnancy
- Hormone levels
- Medical status
- Emotional state
- Sexual interest
- Consent
- Capacity
- Competence
- Relationship readiness
Do not use Tides as:
- Contraception
- Fertility treatment
- Pregnancy confirmation
- Hormone testing
- Medical testing
- A substitute for professional advice
Cycle length and individual experiences vary.
6. PMDD Information
Tides may allow a user to indicate:
- She experiences strong luteal symptoms
- She is unsure whether she has PMDD
- She has been diagnosed with PMDD by a healthcare professional
Selecting clinician-diagnosed PMDD is a statement made by the user.
Tides does not issue, independently verify, or confirm that diagnosis.
A user who selects clinician-diagnosed PMDD may choose whether Tides explains PMDD to her connected partner.
She may choose to share:
- A general explanation
- Her personal experience
- Her support preferences
- Other approved details
- Both general and personal information
She may also choose:
- Not right now
- Never share PMDD information
- Turn PMDD sharing off later
Tides is helping communicate information supplied by the user. It is not diagnosing or treating her.
A partner must not use PMDD information to:
- Dismiss legitimate concerns
- Shame the user
- Assume how she feels
- Predict her behavior
- Override her current statements
- Ignore her boundaries
- Excuse harmful behavior by either person
7. Partner Connections
A Tides account may be connected to another adult’s account or phone number through the applicable invitation and consent process.
A partner connection does not:
- Create legal authority over another person
- Provide full access to another person’s account
- Create consent to sex or physical contact
- Create consent to communication at any time
- Create consent to location tracking
- Create authority over medical decisions
- Guarantee that shared information is complete or current
- Require a person to follow every Tides suggestion
- Make Tides responsible for either person’s behavior
Either person may pause eligible messages or disconnect where the feature is available.
You may not:
- Connect someone without authorization
- Impersonate another person
- Submit contact details you are not authorized to use
- Circumvent another person’s opt-out
- Access another person’s account without permission
8. Automatic Messages
After the applicable approvals are completed, Tides may automatically send:
- Estimated cycle-phase updates
- Approved support suggestions
- Important-date reminders
- Approved favorite or wishlist suggestions
Automatic messaging may begin only after:
- The cycle-sharing user approves the relevant sharing categories; and
- The connected partner consents to receive recurring messages.
Either person may turn off or pause the message categories available to them.
Tides automates approved reminders, not assumptions.
Automatic messages must not be treated as proof of:
- Someone’s current mood
- Someone’s hormone levels
- Someone’s intentions
- Someone’s sexual interest
- Someone’s consent
- Someone’s ability to make decisions
- Someone’s relationship intentions
9. User-Triggered Messages
Explain Today, Hard Day, Repair, and appreciation messages are intended to be manually initiated.
Where Tides provides a message preview, the user is responsible for:
- Reviewing the message
- Editing the message as needed
- Confirming the intended recipient
- Deciding whether to send it
You remain responsible for messages you choose to send.
Tides does not guarantee that a message will:
- Be delivered
- Be read
- Be interpreted as intended
- Receive a response
- Resolve a conflict
- Improve a relationship
10. Repair
Repair is a structured communication aid.
It may help a user:
- Apologize
- Acknowledge impact
- Clarify meaning
- Request a pause
- Say they are not ready to talk
- Suggest reconnecting later
Repair is not:
- Couples therapy
- Mediation
- Crisis intervention
- A determination of fault
- Proof that one person is right
- A requirement to reconcile
Cycle context may help explain feelings or vulnerability, but it does not excuse:
- Cruelty
- Threats
- Coercion
- Abuse
- Manipulation
- Harassment
- Repeated harmful conduct
Do not use Repair to pressure another person to:
- Communicate
- Forgive
- Reconcile
- Remain in a relationship
- Ignore a boundary
Do not use Repair if contacting another person could create danger.
11. SMS Terms
By opting in to Tides SMS messages, you agree to receive recurring automated or non-automated text messages associated with Tides and your connected-partner experience.

- Invitations
- Consent requests
- Cycle updates
- Support suggestions
- Important-date reminders
- User-triggered messages
- Service messages
- Security notices
Message frequency varies.
Message and data rates may apply.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any product or service.

- STOP to unsubscribe
- HELP for assistance
After receiving STOP, Tides may send one confirmation message.
Mobile carriers are not responsible for delayed or undelivered messages.
You are responsible for keeping your phone number accurate and current.
Do not provide another person’s phone number unless you are authorized to do so.

12. Accounts and Security
You are responsible for:

We may investigate, restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts used in violation of these rules.
14. User Content
“User Content” includes information, messages, preferences, dates, lists, drafts, feedback, and other material you submit.
You retain ownership of your User Content.
You grant Tides a limited, nonexclusive license to host, store, process, transmit, reproduce, and display User Content only as reasonably necessary to:
- Operate Tides
- Provide requested features
- Deliver messages you authorize
- Maintain connected-partner functionality
- Maintain security
- Resolve technical issues
- Comply with law
You represent that you have the right to submit the User Content you provide.
Do not submit content that violates another person’s rights.
15. Future Journal Features
Tides may introduce private journaling or Shared Moments features in the future.
Private journal content should remain visible only to the person who created it unless that person deliberately chooses to share it.
Tides does not currently promise that journal features will be available during the initial testing phase.
Any future journal feature may be subject to additional disclosures and controls.
16. Future Artificial-Intelligence Features
Tides may introduce AI-assisted features in the future.
AI-generated information may be:
- Incomplete
- Incorrect
- Inappropriate
- Based on limited context
- Different from what a professional would recommend
Future AI features must not be relied on as:
- Medical advice
- Diagnosis
- Treatment
- Therapy
- Crisis assistance
- Legal advice
- A definitive interpretation of another person’s motives
Users are responsible for reviewing and editing AI-generated messages before sending them.
Tides does not guarantee that AI will accurately understand a user, partner, relationship, or situation.

18. Feedback
If you provide product feedback, ideas, suggestions, or feature requests, you allow Tides to use that feedback without restriction or compensation.

19. Third-Party Services
Tides may rely on third-party services, including:
- Hosting providers
- Database providers

is owned by Tides Labs LLC or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
